‘ ‘ T e l e p o r t i n g’ ’
Nightcrawler is a mutant who can teleport by opening a portal into another dimension, travelling through it via an unconscious direction-finding sense, and returning to his own dimension.
Nightcrawler can easily teleport north south along Earth's magnetic lines of force. However, teleporting east west against them or teleporting vertically is more difficult. Under optimal conditions, Nightcrawler can teleport 2 miles east west, 3 miles north south, and 2 miles vertically if he exerts himself. Nightcrawler's momentum is retained when teleporting, so he arrives with the same inertia he left with. He can reduce this by teleporting short distances in the opposite direction.
Nightcrawler has a limited unconscious extrasensory ability that prevents him from teleporting into any area that he cannot see or has not seen in the past, as doing so runs the risk of injury or death by materializing partially or entirely within a solid object.
Through practice, Nightcrawler has increased the mass he can teleport with him, though the limit to the amount of weight he can carry when teleporting and the distance over which he can teleport with such additional loads are unknown. Teleporting with Nightcrawler often leaves a passenger feeling weak and nauseous.
‘ ‘A t t r a c t i o n ’ ’
Nightcrawler is also able to cling to solid surfaces via his hands and feet. He can also render himself nigh-invisible in shadows by manipulating the ever-present portal to the dimension he teleports through so as to bend light around himself.
``Other Abilities••
Nightcrawler is an Olympic class acrobat, due to his extensive early training in the circus, and perhaps more importantly, to his unusually flexible spine, which allows him to perform feats that would damage or cripple an average human. Nightcrawler is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and is a master at fencing. He is even able to wield a sword with his tail.
``Weaknesses••
‘ ‘ P o w e r s ’ ’
The farther Nightcrawler teleports, the more energy he must exert to do so. His extreme limit. But with the more mass he carries, his distance limit is pretty much cut in half as well, and again takes even more energy to teleport, making him very weak and stressed.
‘ ‘ P h y s i c a l ’ ’
Like any other human being, he can be injured and killed just like anyone else. He can also die from disease. He can get confused and stressed as well as frustrated and angered. Pretty much if you get past his demonic looking appearance he's a normal human like everyone else.

Nightcrawler, also known as Kurt Wagner, is known famously for his blueish colored fur and tail. For they are defiantly something you don't see everyday, let alone anywhere on the planet. So far Kurt has yet to find a mutant asides from Mystique that was like him. So different on the outside, and yet the same on the inside. This seems to bring Kurt down a little. But is always reminded that it makes him who he is and that it's not going to change anytime soon.
Along with the fur and tail he has a pair of brilliant yellow eyes that allow him to see slightly better at night time. They are the only thing that he can't hide in the shadow since the glow so brightly in the dark, and usually resorts to closing his eyes so he can hide fully among the shadows. He also sports a full set of sharpened canine like teeth that can give Kurt a rather scary look. But only when he seems to be snarling at you. Other wise these teeth are usually seen in a small smile.
On his hands there are two large fingers and a thumb. His feet are made of two toes protruding from the front, and where his heel should be another toe. Giving him three toes, and three fingers all together.
Now, if you ever happened to catch in without his trench coat, you'll find the many symbols that Kurt has placed upon his body for every sin he believes he has committed. Symbols from the angelic being Gabriel. But in the end, if you get past the scary demon appearance, he's a normal mutant just trying to fit in.

``Overall Personality••
Despite his demon-like appearance, once you scratch beneath the superficial layer that comprises his appearance, he has a very good heart, and is a very trustworthy and loyal friend. His teammates, as well as his very good friends, know they can count on him in their times of need, no matter how good or bad they may be. He is the empathetic listener, the shoulder to cry on, the person to offer a verse from Scripture to ease their pain. All in all, he is someone who you'd be proud to have as your friend.
Speaking of Scripture, his faith is a big part of who he is. He accepted the Catholic faith when he was a young boy, needing to find more solace than what he had with his family and with the comforting arms of the circus, and found solace in it...he still does today. Often, you will find him reading his Bible, or praying in silent contemplation, holding his set of rosary beads. He even runs a Bible study group on Sundays, which is very fitting, being as he contemplated being a priest at one point. He is very selfless and of a forgiving nature, his philosophy of life being to "turn the other cheek".
Being of his faith also comes with a price, and that is his guilty nature. Whenever he commits a sin, he feels extremely guilty and sometimes beyond forgiveness. He will go so far as to lock himself in his room as he sits in fervent silence, etching yet another angelic symbol into his indigo skin. He won't eat for days, and once he emerges from his room, he is a somewhat skeletal version of himself, emptiness in his shining yellow eyes.

``History••
Kurt Wagner. The man who knows very little about his early years...from what he was told by his adoptive mother, Margali (a gypsy and circus entertainer), he was born in the Bavarian Alps, at best guess, on September 23, 1978. Margali found him in a little shack near the mountain chain...his father, Eric, dead; his mother, supposedly dying. His mother begged Margali to take the tiny baby and despite his rather odd appearance (yellow eyes, bluish complexion and blue fur), the gypsy woman agreed, taking him to the small Bavarian circus where she worked as a fortuneteller. He was never really legally adopted by anyone, but the circus acted as his family. They had no prejudices against him, and accepted him for who he was.
He grew up happy in the circus, everybody becoming his very close friends. Long before his teleportation power manifested, he was remarkably agile, and when he turned nine, became an aerialist and acrobat, going by the moniker "The Incomparable Nightcrawler". At the age of thirteen, when his mutant power manifested, he simply incorporated this as part of his act. The audiences did not think of him as being a mutant: they thought of him as a "guy in a costume." Even though this pained him, he learned to live with it, finding solace in the Catholic religion. This solace would follow him for the rest of his life. When he was in his early twenties, a rich American who owned a large circus bought out the small traveling Bavarian circus Kurt worked at. He was happy...until the American told him he was to be in the circus' freak show.
He was disgusted, and once the circus came to America, he decided to quit and took solace in abandoned churches, stealing food in order to live. When he absolutely had to go out in public, he'd bundle himself up in a large trenchcoat, his tail tucked up underneath; and he kept to the shadows. Each sin he decided to mark on his body as an angelic symbol. The love and acceptance he'd known for the whole of his life...gone. He never heard from or saw any of those from the Bavarian circus again. The life of thievery to eat, living in churches, and etching symbols for each sin into his skin continued for many years, until...something happened. He remembered being taken by men...he remembered how cold it was. And he remembered...a very powerful man, hurting him...something burning on his neck.
...being told to attack the President of the United States.
It was as if the real Kurt was in a body he couldn't control. His body was transported to Washington, D.C., his feet carried him into the White House, under the guise of someone taking the White House tour. He got past security and Secret Service, and hurt many of them on his unwilling quest to attack the President. Once he got into the Oval Office, he hurt many more guards, and nearly killed the President...that is, until he was shot at. The only thing left by him was a knife, with a red strip of fabric hanging from the handle that said, "Mutant Freedom Now!" A few hours after this happened, he regained control of his body and was horrified. He teleported from place to place, afraid the man that did this to him would capture him again. He finally ended his long, exhausting travels in Boston, once again taking solace in an abandoned church.
It was there that Jean Grey and Ororo Munroe found him. Scared, and not knowing what they would do, he shouted insults at them in German, only to have Ororo blast him down from a beam rafter, and Jean hold him steady. At first, he was shocked that there were others like him. "Please, let me go!" he pleaded. "I did not mean to harm anyone!" They assured him they would not hurt him, and take him back to the X-Mansion, where it was safe. En route, Logan contacted the X-Jet by comlink, and told them to pick him, Bobby, Rogue, and John up from Bobby's parent's house in Boston. After meeting these X-Men briefly, he was merely a listening bystander as he heard of what happened to the X-Mansion. En route, the X-Jet is targeted by two Air Force fighter jets, who try to force the X-Jet to land. When the X-Jet refuses, it is targeted and fired upon. Rogue is sucked out of the Jet, and he saves her.
The Jet almost crashes, but it is stopped by Magneto, who tells them all that Stryker is responsible for the current mutant miseries. After being discovered listening in on the conversation, Jean reads his mind and discovers that Stryker's secret base is at Alkali Lake, underground. The X-Men, Magneto and Mystique all work together to stop Stryker from attempting to use Xavier in the makeshift Cerebro (to kill all the mutants). Nightcrawler goes with Storm to save the mutant children Stryker has hostage, and to save the Professor from his powerful mental hold. Everyone left the base, being as it was going to be flooded. The X-Jet would not start, and Jean ended up saving them all, at the expense of her own life.
Upon the return to the X-Mansion, Professor Xavier talked with Kurt about the possibility of him staying on and becoming an X-Man. Kurt felt the professor had a kind heart, and that he only wanted to help him, so he agreed. He felt he had a whole new family. He became very close with Logan, Ororo, Kitty, and Piotr, and trained in the Danger Room to further develop his skills. But the guilt of his past life and what he had done consumed him, and because of this, he tearfully bid his friends a temporary farewell, leaving to go to his motherland of Germany, on sabbatical. While there, he was in relative isolation, became deeply connected to the Lord and to his faith, even considering not returning to the United States and to the X-Men.
He changed his mind, feeling that the Lord had forgiven him for his sins, even though he might not have forgiven himself. However, upon his return to the mansion, he found a world changed. Jean was gone. Professor Xavier was dead. Something called The Cure abounded. And now, all of this trouble going on in the world today. The ugliness. Somehow, he feels that the Lord called him back here; that this is where he belongs. And thus this stands, him traveling back to the U.S. to be reunited with his friends.
Now here, and hearing about the newly proposed Registration act. Kurt is worried of what might come of this. He knows that many mutants don't accept this. That this could lead to war, more deaths that he couldn't stop. Something he just didn't want to see anymore. He deep down despises the Registration act. And believes its unnecessary for the most part. But he doesn't know what he can do besides fight next to his friends and hope for the best.

Kurt Listened, and laughed gently as she spoke of him having no head. Brought back early memories of some of the pranks he had pulled upon some of the teachers when he first joined the X-Men before he left for his homeland back in Germany. He shook his head and then looked to his tail as she mentioned it. She certainly was one to keep a conversation going that was for sure. But it was a good thing. It made Kurt's job a whole lot easier. He didn't mind answer questions. It was more or less a hobby of his these days. Explaining himself and his life, as well as the many things he could do. Especially what his tail could do as well.
"Yes, mein(my in German) tail is vhat keeps me balanced. As vell as a few other zhings. Like hold me upside down. It is like a second hand. Allows me to do many other zhings." He said quickly before she went on about midnight philosophising. He listened intently nodding here and there. Many might believe it was a scary thing to do such thinking so late at night. But look at him, was there anything more scary looking than him? He didn't believe so, no matter how many other times people had told him not to think that way, he still did.
"Vell, night is just as clear as day for me. I have slightly enhanced vision. Allowing me to see better at night. And I'm more nocturnal than anyzhing else. So it doesn't bother me at all." Also know a Conduit." His eyes gave off a small sparkle as he looked to her. His smile a playful one as she slowly broke through that shy and quiet shell that many knew.
